Bankruptcy and Insolvency
The Bankruptcy and Insolvency Group has extensive experience in financial reorganizations, debt restructurings, debtor and creditor rights, security enforcement, forbearance/standstill arrangements, receivership and related matters for financial institutions, court and privately appointed receivers, interim receivers and liquidators, landlords, suppliers, trustees in bankruptcy, corporate and individual borrowers, and other interested parties. Working in concert with a dedicated team of lawyers from our Litigation Group, we have acted in many of the largest and most complex insolvency-related proceedings and workouts in the Canadian business community. We have also been involved in several leading cases involving lender liability, commercial fraud, and other complex matters.
In the institutional sector, the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Group's significant experience includes practical and timely advice on a regular basis to the special asset management group of Royal Bank of Canada, a major Canadian financial institution. Royal Bank has designated Minden Gross as counsel in lending, litigation and bankruptcy, insolvency, and repayment matters.
Headed by Timothy R. Dunn, the members of our Bankruptcy and Insolvency Practice Group participate regularly as bar admissions instructors and lecturers, program leaders, and authors of publications on insolvency-related topics sponsored by professional, industrial, and private organizations.
