Brian is a Chair of our Corporate/Commercial group and his practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions with an emphasis on growth oriented owner-operated and family-owned businesses with operations throughout North America as well as for emerging companies. He concentrates on acquiring a clear understanding of the client’s business objectives and then creating solutions to achieve those objectives. This allows Brian to provide advice on day-to-day business matters and long-term strategic goals.

He is experienced in dealing with share purchase transactions, asset acquisitions and dispositions and share subscriptions, financings and investments. Brian has worked with bidders and targets, acquisition financiers, private equity funds, and investment dealers. Brian also acts on a broad range of commercial matters including shareholder rights, strategic alliances, joint ventures, limited partnerships and software licenses.

Brian regularly works with other members of the firm, including Tax, Litigation, Employment, and Real Estate to ensure he provides a thorough legal solution at all phases of a transaction. This allows clients to proceed with confidence and act quickly when required.

Along with his professional business law experience, Brian currently serves on the board of a charitable organization and serves as an officer and director of several private investment companies.
